In recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Spectrum News 13 shared the story of Marco, an OCA participant with autism who faced communication barriers while searching for employment. Through OCA’s First Flight Academy program, Marco received workplace-readiness support and interview preparation to help him navigate the job search process and take the next step in his career. Today, he works in Orlando Health’s food and linen department through its We Build program. Marco’s journey highlights the importance of inclusive employment opportunities and the critical resources available through OCA to help individuals with disabilities overcome barriers and find meaningful employment.
