When you think about supporting autism programs, you may picture the visible moments – a young adult learning job skills, a group participating in a fitness class, or a child gaining confidence in a new social setting. These moments are real and meaningful, but they are only part of the story.

Behind every one of those moments is a community who believes opportunity should exist for every individual.
OCA’s mission is simple: to create meaningful pathways to independence for individuals with autism and other developmental differences. We do this through programs that build life skills, workforce readiness, health, and social connection across the lifespan – programs that rely on the kindness of others as a component for sustainability.
Creating those opportunities requires more than good intentions. It takes trained professionals who understand how individuals learn and grow. It takes thoughtfully designed programs that meet people where they are while challenging them to take the next step. It takes safe, welcoming spaces where they can build confidence and relationships. And it takes a community willing to invest in making those things possible.
Many families navigating services already face significant financial pressures. Therapy, specialized education, and long-term support can add up quickly. At the same time, the demand for high-quality programs continues to grow. That is why philanthropy plays such a critical role in our work.
When you give to OCA, you keep programs accessible and affordable and help OCA expand services for individuals and families who need them. You provide scholarships for families experiencing hardship and fund innovative programs that help individuals develop the skills and confidence they crave and deserve.

“The Flutie Foundation supports our partner organizations in addressing a wide range of important needs within the autism community,” said Nick Savarese, Executive Director, The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism. “Through our work, organizations like OCA can focus on the strengths and abilities of individuals on the autism spectrum – helping them build on what they can and creating opportunities to live fuller, more independent lives.”
Some of our participants are learning how to build friendships. Others are preparing for their first job. Many are simply looking for a place where they are understood and supported as they grow toward greater independence. When you choose to invest in OCA, you create a world where individuals with autism are seen for their potential and given the tools to succeed.
That is the power of collective support. And it is what makes this work possible every day.
